Hidden in the small alcove of the stairwell between the first and second floor, Dwight practiced his martial arts. He was sure he had been making good enough progress with Charles to not be dismissed so easily. Didn't he see that he loved this company more than Jim? He pressed the play button on the cassette player and started to bounce around, doing kicks and chops at the air in order to vent his frustration.
For the last ten years, he put his blood, sweat, and tears into his job and just when he thought he was going to get somewhere he was dismissed from the most important meeting he had ever been invited to in his life - aside from the meeting he held last year about where paper came from. His life was falling apart completely. He had betrayed his best friend Michael, he lost Angela, and now he was close to losing his job.
Dwight was never one to give in, and he knew he couldn't do that now. Perhaps what Charles needed was the dossier showing all of the work with sales that he had done in the last ten years. He would put together an awesome presentation to convince Charles that he should be his assistant, not Jim.
